GSERSE2024: "Global Summit on Renewable and Sustainable Energy"
We are thrilled to announce METACITIES’ participation in the Global Summit on Renewable and Sustainable Energy (GSERSE2024), held on November 28–29 in Porto, Portugal, and organized by the United Research Forum.
Associate Professor Christos Antonopoulos, from the University of Peloponesse, was honoured to be invited as a keynote speaker at this prestigious conference. The summit focused on “Innovative Breakthroughs in Renewable Energy from Concept to Implementation,” bringing together thought leaders from across the globe.
In his keynote speech titled “Trends in Digital Twin Framework Architectures for Smart Cities: A Case Study in Smart Mobility,” Dr. Antonopoulos shared insights from the MetaCities Excellence Hub in South-Eastern Europe. His presentation explored the role of cutting-edge technologies such as digital twins, metaverse technology, AI, and big data in shaping the future of smart cities.
Highlights of the presentation included key use cases in Patras, Greece, with a focus on:
