"Innovation Systems – Burgas" presented the METACITIES project at Burgas Digital 2025
The manager of Innovation Systems – Burgas Ltd., Daniela Alexieva, took part in panel III: “Ecosystems and applications of new technologies” within the framework of the Burgas Digital 2025 conference – a leading forum for artificial intelligence, innovation and digital transformation.
In her presentation on “METACITIES – from digital twins to metaverse: digital solutions in urban planning”, Alexieva presented the company’s vision for integrated digital management of the urban environment and the use of new technologies for sustainable development.
She outlined how the METACITIES project develops the concept of digital twins – virtual models of real urban sites and processes that allow analysis, modelling and forecasting of future scenarios.
In her presentation, Alexieva focused on the role of artificial intelligence and XR technologies (VR, AR, MR) as the next step toward the urban metaverse — an environment in which data, systems, and citizens interact in real-time.
