METACITIES at EU-Robotics Forum 2025: Advancing 6G for Future Robotics

The METACITIES project proudly contributed to the Workshop “6G Empowering Future Robotics” at the EU-Robotics Forum 2025, held in Stuttgart, Germany (24–26 March 2025). The workshop brought together leading experts from the one6G Association and euRobotics to explore how 6G technologies can unlock new capabilities in robotics across sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, logistics, and smart cities.

The workshop featured presentations, provocations, and breakout sessions focused on:

  • Robotic requirements for communication, sensing, and human-robot interaction

  • Use case scenarios and how 6G can enhance aerial, industrial, and service robotics

  • Implementation and testbed challenges

  • Standardisation pathways and cross-SDO collaboration

  • Privacy, ethics, and AI techniques for multimodal robotic data

SmartAvatar, a METACITIES partner, played a leading role through Dr. Albena Mihovska, who co-organised the event and led the Standardisation for Smart Cities discussion group, capturing real-time insights and recommendations via collaborative whiteboard sessions.
