METACITIES at Researchers’ Night in Nicosia!
We are excited to announce that METACITIES will participate in the European Researchers’ Night 2026, taking place on Friday, 25 September 2026, at the Cyprus State Fair (Halls A & B) in Nicosia.
Celebrating its 20th anniversary in Cyprus, European Researchers’ Night brings science, research and innovation closer to the public through interactive activities, experiments, demonstrations and hands-on experiences for visitors of all ages.
Experience the Nicosia Digital Twin live!
Visit METACITIES at Booth No. 51 for a live demonstration of the Nicosia Digital Twin – Urban Heat Island Reduction Simulator, one of the project’s Proofs of Concept (PoCs).
The simulator uses satellite-derived thermal data to identify persistent urban heat hotspots across Nicosia and enables users to explore targeted tree-planting scenarios and estimate their potential cooling effects.
Through the live demonstration, visitors will discover how Digital Twin technologies can support climate-responsive urban planning and help cities explore data-driven solutions for reducing urban heat.
