We are excited to announce that the MetaCities Excellence Hub in South-Eastern Europe was presented at the Smart Cities Council Summit North America (SCSNA 2025) held in San Francisco on May 7–8, 2025.

This high-impact event brought together global leaders from the public and private sectors, academia, and innovation ecosystems to explore human-centric approaches to urban transformation across the Middle East and Africa, inspired by the rapid development of regions like Dubai and Silicon Valley.

As part of this international gathering, Mahbubul Alam, Chairman of SmartAvatar B.V., presented how the MetaCities initiative is advancing sustainable, inclusive smart cities across Europe. From data-driven urban planning in Cyprus, to smart mobility in Patras, and energy-efficient buildings in Burgas, MetaCities represents a model for cross-border collaboration and citizen-centric urban development.

Mr. Alam also introduced Bånded, a tool that empowers citizens to:

✅ Share real-time feedback on public spaces

✅ Report safety and accessibility issues

✅ Co-create solutions for better urban living

The MetaCities project aligns closely with the summit’s goal: turning ideas into action and action into impact for long-term transformation.

We thank SmartAvatar B.V. for their representation and commitment to fostering smarter, more responsive cities for future generations.
