MetaCities Plenary Meeting in Athens: Driving Digital Innovation in South-Eastern Europe!
We are thrilled to share that the MetaCities Excellence Hub in South-Eastern Europe successfully held its physical plenary meeting in Athens on February 6-7, 2024.
This 48-month EU HORIZON project, which started on January 1st, 2023, is dedicated to establishing an Excellence Hub spanning Cyprus, Greece, and Bulgaria. Through collaboration between partners from the scientific, industrial, social, and public sectors, the project is shaping digital R&I strategies and conducting joint pilots that drive innovation and benefit local ecosystems.
During the plenary, Work Package and Task leaders presented their progress, while all partners engaged in discussions on future plans and ongoing challenges. The meeting also focused on Proof of Concepts (PoCs), demonstrations, pilots, and strategies for business, investment, and sustainability—key pillars for ensuring long-term impact.
