METACITIES Second Plenary Meeting in Nicosia
The METACITIES Project marked another significant milestone as partners from various organizations congregated in the beautiful city of Nicosia for the second plenary meeting held on October 2nd and 3rd, 2023. This gathering saw enthusiastic participants from Bulgaria (BU), Cyprus (CY), and Greece (GR) coming together to share their progress and plans for the future.
Unveiling a Joint R&I Strategy: One of the central themes of this productive meeting was the collaborative development of a Joint Research and Innovation (R&I) strategy. Partners worked hand in hand to identify commonalities between regional and national objectives pertaining to digital transformation. This shared strategy will undoubtedly serve as a guiding light in the pursuit of METACITIES’ ambitious goals.
Exploring Nicosia’s Smart Initiatives: During the meeting, participants had the unique opportunity to explore the captivating city of Nicosia, which is not only steeped in history but is also committed to embracing the future. The visit to the CYENS premises in old Nicosia was a highlight, where partners gained first-hand insights into the “Smart Nicosia” project. This initiative showcases the remarkable progress made by the capital of Cyprus in its journey towards becoming a smart city of the future.
