METACITIES Supports the New Tech Forum 2026 on Intelligent Networks & Digital Twins
On 8 May 2026, the New Tech Forum on Intelligent Networks & Digital Twins will take place at the Foundation of the Hellenic World in Athens. The event is organised by p-NET Emerging Networks & Vertical Applications and supported by the METACITIES Excellence Hub in Southern Europe.
The Forum marks the launch of a new annual initiative that brings together stakeholders from technology, policy, industry, academia, and the creative sectors to explore the real-world impact of emerging technologies. This year’s edition focuses on intelligent networks and digital twins, with particular emphasis on the role of Private 5G, artificial intelligence, extended reality, and metaverse technologies across sectors such as smart cities, culture and tourism, industry, defence, and space.
Digital twins are rapidly gaining importance as tools for monitoring, simulation, and optimisation. While their adoption is accelerating globally, a more coordinated approach is still needed in Greece and the wider region. The New Tech Forum aims to contribute to this direction by fostering dialogue, knowledge exchange, and collaboration.
The programme features keynote speeches and thematic sessions covering technology trends, telecom and defence applications, and use cases across multiple vertical sectors.
The Forum is held in partnership with organisations including the Hellenic Film and Audiovisual Center – Creative Greece, Unity, the Metaverse Standards Forum, and Techritory.
