Open Days at ESDA LAB –Introducing METACITIES to the Next Generation
In April and May 2025, the University of Peloponnese (UoP) welcomed over 100 students to the ESDA Lab and the AAL House in Patras, Greece, as part of a series of school visits. These educational open days offered a unique opportunity to introduce younger audiences to the vision and goals of the METACITIES project.
During 19 separate visits, students engaged with ongoing research activities and learned about smart city technologies. In at least five of these sessions, the METACITIES roll-up banner was prominently displayed, and a short introduction to the project was delivered, offering participants a glimpse into how innovation is shaping the cities of tomorrow.
These outreach activities support METACITIES’ commitment to fostering awareness and interest in smart city concepts among younger generations and promoting community engagement through educational experiences.
