RSI “Panos Mylonas” Presented the METACITIES Project to 890 Educators in a Nationwide Webinar on Digital Creation & Road Safety

More than 1,800 Primary and Secondary Education teachers from across Greece expressed interest in attending the nationwide webinar “Digital Creation and Road Safety”, co-organised by the Road Safety Institute (RSI) ‘Panos Mylonas’ and the Department of Educational Radiotelevision and Digital Media of the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports.
On Wednesday, 12 November, 890 teachers joined live, highlighting the growing need within the educational community for modern tools, innovative practices, and digital content that can enhance the integration of Road Safety into teaching.
Throughout the session, educators remained highly engaged, actively participating with questions, comments and reflections. The webinar forms part of RSI’s wider effort to strengthen Road Safety education by leveraging new technologies and digital media. It is also directly linked to the long-standing Panhellenic Digital Creation Competition on Road Safety, now in its 9th year, which invites students and teachers to explore safe mobility through creativity, collaboration and technology.
Showcasing METACITIES to Greek Educators
During the webinar, participants were also introduced to the vision and capabilities of the METACITIES project, which develops advanced digital twins and metaverse technologies to support the cities of the future. The inclusion of METACITIES underscored how emerging digital tools can enrich educational approaches and empower teachers with interactive, future-oriented resources.
